Original Type I photograph capturing nineteen members of the New York Yankees sitting either in the dugout or on the railing along the stands as they await the start of Game 1 of the 1926 World Series at Yankee Stadium. Interestingly, neither Ruth nor Gehrig is pictured here among their teammates. The Yankees defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 1 of the 1926 World Series, with Herb Pennock allowing three hits in the 2-1 win. Both a "Harry B. Collins Jr." and Brown Brothers photo credit appear on the reverse, along with the handwritten caption "New York Yankees ready for 1st game of the 1926 World Series." The photo (9.5.7.5"), which has been neatly trimmed along the top and left borders, displays a few light creases and is in Very Good condition overall. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
