Offered is game worn hat and a game worn jacket from Cleveland Indian pitcher Mike Garcia. Starting in 1950, the Cleveland Indians had one of the best starting rotations in history. This was in the days when a team had four regular starters. Cleveland's starters were called the "Big Four." That rotation consisted of Bob Feller, Bob Lemon, Early Wyn, and Mike Garcia. All but Garcia are in the Hall of Fame. Garcia was really good. He had a career record of 142-97, with a lifetime ERA of 3.27. He won over 20 games in both 1951 and 1952, and he twice led the American League in ERA. He was a big part of the Indians' pennant winning 1954 team. The hat is from his rookie era, circa 1949-1950. The colorful hat shows fine use and has his last name "Garcia" stitched inside. There is no size or maker's tag. The hat is in fine condition. The jacket is from later in his career and is in great condition. This is something that he would have worn between innings or on cold nights when not pitching. The jacket is high quality with Chief Wahoo patch on left chest area. It has a satin lining. A "Blepp-Coombs Sporting Goods" tag is inside the pocket, along with size "44" tag. There are no other identifiers, but the hat and jacket come with a letter from the person who was willed the jacket by one of the groundskeepers at Cleveland Municipal Stadium. It is stated in the letter that the groundskeeper got it right from Mike Garcia.
