One of the nicest jackets we have handled. Al Rosen was still searching for a regular role with the 1948 Cleveland Indians as the team won the pennant and defeated the Boston Braves in the World Series. Rosen went on to become an outstanding power-hitting third baseman. He was the American league MVP in 1953 when he led the league in homers (43), RBI (145), and OPS (1.034). He also played for Cleveland in the 1954 World Series, when the Indians lost to the New York Giants. Rosen was a teammate to Larry Doby, the first African American player in the American League. Later, Rosen became a noted baseball executive, working for the New York Yankees, the Houston Astros, and the San Francisco Giants. There is a large Chief Wahoo patch on left chest area. Leather sleeves. "Rosen" sewn inside front tail along with "7" tag. Wilson size 46 tag in collar. Zipper works. Overall, very nice condition-minor staining to sleaves.
