The NFL Championship game in 1960 matched the home team Philadelphia Eagles against the Green Bay Packers. The Eagles trailed, but in the fourth quarter, Ted Dean scored on a five-yard run, the extra point was good, and Philadelphia led 17-13. The Packers mounted a final drive. With seconds left, Bart Starr hit Jim Taylor with a pass deep in Eagle territory. Chuck Bednarik, who played both ways (center on offense, and linebacker on defense) tackled Taylor and sat on him so that he couldn't get up to run another play.
