Offered is a very rare opportunity to possess glass plate negatives (8). The negatives measure 3.25x4", and each negative relates to the iconic World Heavyweight Championship fight on April 5, 1915, in which "The Great White Hope," Jess Willard, knocked out the reigning champ, Afro-American Jack Johnson, in the 26th Round to claim the title. The bout was for a scheduled 45 rounds, and it was held at Municipal Stadium in Havana, Cuba. The over 6'6", 245 lb. Willard was behind after 20 rounds, but his younger age and superior condition helped him prevail in one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. 1) Willard and Jack Johnson in action. 2) Opening of the first round - Johnson lands the first blow. 3) The knockout of Johnson by Willard in the 26th. Round. 4) The ring gets crowded after the count of ten - Glass is cracked. 5) Third Round - Willard crouched. 6) The ring just after the knockout. 7) The punch that knocked out Johnson later demonstrated at the St. Nicholas Rink in New York - Glass is cracked. 8) Jess Willard in boxing stance.
