Presented are photos depicting some of the giants of boxing history. Most of the photos are 8x10", and each photo is framed. 1) Jack Dempsey, and Max Schmeling pose in 1939, before they were in the military on opposite sides in World War II. 2) Joe Louis. 3-4) Billy Conn3 5) Sugar Ray Robinson in an action photo against welterweight challenger Kid Gavilan in Philadelphia on July 11, 1949. Robinson won a unanimous decision to defend his World Welterweight crown for the 4th. time. 6) Joe Louis, who appears to be waving a baton. 7) An advertisement, from television's infancy, (4x9") for the June 19, 1946, World Heavyweight Championship fight between champ Joe Louis and Billy Conn to be televised on Channel 4 in New York. Louis defended his World Heavyweight title in front of 45,266 at Yankee Stadium. It was the first heavyweight fight ever televised. 8) Floyd Patterson. 9) Jack Dempsey - Gene Tunney weigh-in. The glass in the frame is broken. 9) Joe Louis knocking out Gus Dorazio on January 17, 1941. 10) Photo taken in 1912, includes Abe Attell (the "Little Champ," and Frankie Conley. 10) A brief account of the Fritzie Zivic and Henry Armstrong World Welterweight Championship fights, with small photos of both Zivic and Armstrong.
