Pittsburgh Pirates home jersey worn by outfielder Bob Skinner during the club's 1960 World Championship season. The white flannel vest-style jersey is lettered "Pirates" across the front and features the number "4" on the reverse. Located on the left front tail are a "Rawlings" label and a "44" size tag. Directly below, chain-stitched in black are the player's name, jersey number, and year ("Skinner 4 60"). A laundry tag appears on the interior left front tail. The jersey is all original and displays heavy wear, including light scattered staining and fraying to a portion of the gold-and-black piping in the collar. Skinner was a key contributor to the Pirates' success in 1960, batting .273, with 15 home runs and a career-high 86 RBI. In the World Series, he had a hit in Game 1, but was injured when he jammed his thumb sliding. He missed the next five games, but returned for the historic Game 7 in which Bill Mazeroski won it for the Pirates with his dramatic ninth-inning walk-off home run. Skinner retired in 1966 with 103 home runs, 531 RBI, and a .277 lifetime average.
