Pittsburgh Pirates home jersey worn by star outfielder Dave Parker in 1981. The white knit home jersey is lettered "Pirates" across the front and features the number "39" on the front and reverse. "Parker" is lettered upon a white nameplate on the reverse above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in black on gold tackle twill. Located in the collar are a "Rawlings size 48" label and an adjacent flag tag that reads "3 inch extra length." Both the jersey number and the year ("39 81") are chain-stitched in black upon a white strip tag on the right front tail. The jersey is all original and displays moderate wear, including scattered staining on the front and reverse. A two-time National League batting champion and former MVP Award winner, Parker was hampered by injuries during the strike-shortened 1981 season. As a result, he finished the season with 9 home runs, 48 RBI, and a then career-low batting average of .258. Parker retired in 1991 with 339, home runs, 1,493 RBI, and a lifetime average of .290.
