1932 Bulgaria Sport-Photos #256 Babe Ruth and Max Schmeling. Graded VG-EX 4 by SGC. During the early 1930s Babe Ruth's fame was such that he was even included in this little-known German tobacco-card set. The card features Ruth in uniform posing with heavyweight boxing champion Max Schmeling. The text on the reverse, which is in German, makes note that Ruth's salary of $100,000 was more than that of the President of the United States. Ruth was the only baseball player included in the 272-card set and this has always been one of his most obscure cards. The card displays light edge and corner wear, but is well centered, with a clean front and reverse. An extremely attractive example of this seldom-seen 1930s Ruth issue.
