Very rare ticket stub to the first game in which Hall of Fame New York Yankees General Manager George Weiss served in that capacity, Opening Day, April 19, 1948. Stub is slabbed and graded by PSA as VG 3, though the perforation tear looks clean as does the print for the contest at Washington's Clark Griffith Stadium, with the Bronx Bombers grabbing a 12-4 victory. There is some staining evident at the right very edge, ticket has a nice look overall. Weiss had previously worked in the Yanks' player development system, and in 13 seasons at the GM helm the Pinstripes won an astounding 10 American League pennants and seven (7) World Series titles. Pop 2 with none graded higher.
