Displayed is the March 23, 1956, NCAA Basketball Championship Game ticket stub when center Bill Russell and his San Francisco Dons won their second straight title as they defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes 83-71. It was also Russell's last college game. Russell was incredible as he dominated the game. He recorded the exceedingly rare double-triple-double, which is when a player registers a total of at least 20 in any three statistical categories during a single game. Russell finished the title game with 26 points, 27 rebounds, and 20 blocks. He also had 3 steals and an assist. Russell was all about winning titles: He led Oakland California's McClymonds High School to two basketball State Championships; After his collegiate career, Russell captained the U.S. Olympic Gold Medal Basketball team in 1956; then in professional basketball, NBA Hall of Famer Russell won an amazing 11 NBA Championships, the last two with him as coach. The stub is encapsulated by PSA and graded by PSA as FR 1.5.
