Note: The following bats are game issued: Derek Jeter, LS Tim Raines, Homer Bush.

The 1998 New York Yankees will forever be remembered as one of the greatest teams of all time by virtue of their Major League record 114 wins and four-game sweep of the San Diego Padres in the World Series. This incredible collection of pro-model bats features examples for 14 of the 19 position players on that squad, plus two duplicates (Raines and Brosius). Nearly all the bats date precisely from the 1998 World Championship season and several were made for or used in postseason play. Nine of the bats are accompanied by an individual PSA LOA, with four having also received a numerical grade. Unless otherwise noted, the bats are not cracked and show varying degrees of use. In our listing "R" represents Rawlings and "LS" represents Louisville Slugger. The collection consists of the following: Derek Jeter. "R" model 650B. 34", 31 ounces. Shows no use. Originates from Bobby Murcer's personal collection. Signed by Jeter on the barrel in silver paint pen (7/10). PSA LOA for both the bat and signature. Chuck Knoblauch. "LS" model T141. 34.5", 32 ounces. Shows no use. Inscribed in silver paint pen (8/10) on the barrel to teammate Chili Davis: "To Chili Dawg - Thanks for the Knowledge! Together We Win Championships! Chuck Knoblauch 98." Joe Girardi. "R" model 155B. 34", 31.6 ounces. PSA GU 10. Although not stamped as such, PSA describes this as a bat used in the 1998 World Series based upon its use characteristics, most notably red-ink transfers on the barrel. Tim Raines. Cooper model TR4. 33.5", 30.7 ounces. "Rock" written on the knob. Inscribed in silver paint pen (8/10) on the barrel: "Tim 'Rock" Raines #31." PSA LOA. Tim Raines. "LS" 33.5", 31.3 ounces. Promotional-show bat. No use. Inscribed in silver paint pen (9/10) on the barrel "Tim 'Rock' Raines #30." PSA LOA. Tino Martinez. "LS" model B349. 34.25", 31.1 ounces. #24 on knob. PSA GU 10. Darryl Strawberry. "R" model 595A. 35.5", 31.4 ounces. Signed in black Sharpie (7/10) on the barrel. PSA GU 8.5. Jorge Posada. "LS" model M356. Stamped "1998-L.C.S." on the barrel. 34", 32.75 ounces. No use. Scott Brosius. "R" model SB7. 34", 33.1 ounces. #18 on knob. Scott Brosius. "R" model SB7. 34", 33.5 ounces. No use. Shane Spencer. "LS" model M356. 34.5", 32 ounces. Stamped "1998 World Series" on the barrel. #47 on knob. Inscribed in silver paint pen (9/10) on the barrel "Shane Spencer 98' World Series." Chili Davis. "R" model CD44. 35", 34.25 ounces. Homer Bush. "LS" model T141. 33.5", 30.7 ounces. Stamped "1998 World Series" on the barrel. Inscribed in silver paint pen (7/10) on the barrel "Homer Bush 98 World Series." PSA LOA. Chad Curtis. "LS" model T141. 34", 32.25 ounces. #28 and "R3" written on the knob. Large 15" crack in handle. Dale Sveum. "LS" model S341. 33.9", 30.3 ounces. #17 on knob. PSA LOA. Luis Sojo. "LS" model R205. 34", 31 ounces. PSA GU 8. Also accompanied by a Steiner LOA. A collection that would take years to duplicate. The Bernie Williams and Paul O'Neill bats offered elsewhere in this auction were once part of this collection.
