Rare 1972 Babe Ruth Kimro chalkware statue stands 22" and weighs roughly a dozen pounds. Though these were produced for general sale, the hand-painted nature gives each a one-of-a-kind feel, as this one has a green base with smiling Bambino wearing his Yankees uniform; though lines are there for pinstripes they are not filled in. Given to our consignor as a child, there are a few small chips of paint but the piece remains in remarkable condition, as chalkware is generally plaster-based and much more fragile than ceramic statues.
