A rare boxing cabinet card of legendary fighter Bob Fitzsimmons. Robert James Fitzsimmons was a British born boxer who had a legendary career. He was known as "Ruby Robert" and "The Freckled Wonder" and was proud of the lack of scarring he obtained in the ring. 'Fitzsimmons, an early gloved-era middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight champion, was the first fighter to win world titles in three weight divisions. He beat the famed 'Nonpareil' Jack Dempsey in 1891 to annex the middleweight crown, gained full recognition as heavyweight champion by defeating Sullivan's conqueror, James J Corbett, in 1897, and later became an early holder of the light heavyweight title. Nat Fleicher considered him the greatest pound for pound knockout puncher in boxing history, and he is an International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee. Card measure 6.5x4.5" and was made by Stormy Studios in Union Square, New York City. Card is professionally graded and encapsulated by SGC. It is graded as SGC GD2.
