Just two hours after the "unsinkable" RMS Titanic plunged to the ocean depths, the RMS Carpathia braved the icy waters to conduct a rescue mission. This rare original, Type I photo from the Illustration Bureau of London shows the survivors from the Titanic aboard the Carpathia, which plucked over 700 passengers from lifeboats. Crease to bottom right corner, measures 6.5x4.25", pencil notations on verso along with sticker and multiple stamps indicating that this is from the vast Brown Brothers collection.
