Circa 1912 original Type I photo shows Reverend Roger Anderson aboard the Carpathia with a crew member as he conducted an at-sea burial service for Titanic victims. Just two hours after the loss of the "unsinkable" ship, the Carpathia was on site for a recovery mission and is credited with rescuing 705 passengers from lifeboats while navigating the icy waters. Illustration Bureau/London image measures 6x8", a couple of corners are nicked but the central image remains clear, pencil notation on back identifies the ship with notation, "Rev Roger Anderson who conducted sea burial service" and stamps from Brown Brothers, as part of their photo service collection. Encapsulated PSA Type I Authentic.
