A pair of iconic figures are highlighted in this wonderful original Type I photo of President Herbert Hoover and Babe Ruth. Hoover was noted as an avid sports fan, particularly baseball, and the pair is clad in suits while watching the Stanford vs. USC football game on November 11, 1933, at the Los Angeles Coliseum. This 7x9" image is credited to Acme Newspictures, has crop lines on the image, and shows some minor wear but presents beautifully. Famously, when asked in 1930 if he should be making more money than the President, The Bambino quipped, "Why not? I had a better year than he did." Verso has partially torn identifying caption along with stamps from Brown Brothers as this is from their vast archive. Includes PSA Type I Letter.
