Christy Mathewson's dominant pitching expertise was enough to make him part of the first class of inductees into the Hall of Fame in 1936. He was also a decent hitter, however, with 69 career extra-base hits and a solid (for a pitcher) .215 average. Rare photo from the early 1910s of Matty at bat is 6.5x4.5" with one small blemish noticed but in outstanding shape. Back IDs "C. Mathewson" in pencil and has multiple stamps from Brown Brothers, as this is from their extensive archive. Encapsulated PSA Type I Authentic.
