A high grade near-set of 1948 Bowman baseball. Bowman’s initial entry into the world of baseball pasteboards was limited to only 48 cards, but included some real stars of the day, including Berra, Spahn and Musial - all rookie cards. Missing only #s 47 and 48 for completion, the cards in this near-set grade 30% NM or better, 50% EX-MT and 20% slightly lesser, mostly because of centering. Several stars have already been graded by PSA: 6 Berra (PSA 4), 8 Rizzuto (PSA 6), 17 Slaughter (PSA 2.5), 18 Spahn (PSA 4 (MC)), 36 Musial RC (PSA 2.5) and 38 Schoendienst (PSA 4.5). #5 Feller is nicely centered with good corners but has light surface damage on the front.
