High quality group of World War II-themed cards and sets, predominantly of warplanes, but also of Navy fighting ships. Fine military non-sport cards from the 1930s and '40s: 1) 1930s R47 Shelby Gum Co. complete set of 24 ‘Fighting Planes’, produced for their "Fighting Plane Chewing Gum" product line. Cards grade 25% NM or better, 45% EX to EX-MT, 20% VG-EX, 10% lesser. 2) 1940 R177 Gum Inc. ‘Zoom’ Airplanes: a) Cream-colored background; 66/100, inc. #1, 100. Cards are 10% EX-MT or better, 50% EX, 30% VG to VG-EX and 10% lesser. b) Green/orange/yellow/blue backgrounds; 31/100, inc. #100. Cards are 35% EX-MT or better, 30% EX to EX-MT, 30% VG to VG-EX and 5% lesser. 3) 1944 R112 CARD-O complete sets of WW2 aircraft and ships, including series ‘A’ (22 cards), series ‘B’ (26 cards), series ‘C’ (28 cards) and series ‘D’ (27 cards). Series ‘A’ are all ships (US Navy); Series ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ are all aircraft (multi-nation). All cards in very high grade, NM or better, with many worthy of grading. 4) 1944 R112 Whitman Publishing, set of (48) WW2 aircraft, ships and drawings, also in very high grade (NM or better), and worthy of grading. Also included is a mailer pack of (20) WW2 warplane photos, produced by Coca-Cola and all in NM-MT condition. Great group of military-related card issues from 1930s and '40s. Total of 272 cards, plus 1 pack of photo cards.
