An incredible piece, this was used in a store to advertise the goods from this early Canton, Ohio, maker of "Horse Boots & Horse Racing Specialities." This is the earliest such piece we have ever seen, and handpainted early stenciling makes this a fabulous piece of horse racing, folk art, primitive and advertising display. Interestingly, the wood folds in half for easy transport for a salesman taking this in his carriage or horse and cart from town to town. With eye holes to hang, it is 100% original and in amazing, like-new condition, spans 38" across and is a magnificent combination of old paint, wood, stenciling, iron and brass, a killer piece.
