Incredibly ironic that this came out the morning of Game 5 of the 1956 World Series on October 8, 1956, this illustration features the mighty pinstriped "Yankee Stadium Jinx" choking to death the Brooklyn Dodger Bum desperately calling, "Oh Sa-a-a-al." Bottom left, Sal Maglie advances enthusiastically with straight razor & mug. It was not to be = that day Don Larsen would pitch his perfect game and the "jinx" went on. This can be none other than the immortal Larsen Game as it was the only one Maglie pitched in Yankee Stadium in his only World Series with Brooklyn. By top New York City sports cartoonist Burris Jenkins in beautifully dark and clean pencil, it is inscribed by the artist to "Don and Ethel" and measures 13x18" overall in original matte.
