One of only a handful known to exist, this was presented to participants in the game and some quite fortunate VIPs. Here is a Type I photograph of the first baseball All Star Game, featuring a lineup that transcends any era, makes any list of the greatest teams ever assembled. The finest players in the game celebrate the life of this venerable Cleveland Nap on July 24, 1911, to benefit the family of their fallen superstar. Joss, a HOFer in his own right, passed away tragically scant months before from a sudden attack of meningitis. Immortals such as Shoeless Joe Jackson, Cy Young, Walter Johnson, Nap Lajoie, Tris Speaker, Frank Baker, Eddie Collins and Ty Cobb in his famously, hastily "borrowed" Cleveland Naps uniform after he forgot his Detroit duds. One of the top finest known specimens, contrast is exceptional in flattering vintage sepia tones. Overall approximately 14x44" and beautifully archivally framed & matted. One of the truly classic pieces of sports memorabilia and vintage photography; be one of the luckiest on your block to own one. Similar specimens have sold for over $50,000 in the past.
