A fascinating archive of original handwritten letters from Converse Shoes founder Marquis Mills, each is signed on wildly intricate and elegantly designed letterhead dated March and April 1915 - just over a century ago. These letters refer to the sale of a farm once owned by his father. There are a total of five pages with four signatures, all clearly executed in fountain pen. Also includes two envelopes from the "Converse Rubber Shoe Co." and each is postmarked. Each letter measures 8.5x12.5" and the letters are EX to EX+ condition. Mills letters are rare, let alone a find such as this one. From the time of the invention of the Converse All-Stars, this traces the beginnings of the sneaker movement in America. These will be of great present and future collector interest as sneakers themselves have become one of the hottest "new" collectibles.
