Large collection of fifty-seven various items signed by one or more individuals who played with the New York Yankees primarily during the 1920s. Many members of the 1927 New York Yankees are represented here, as well as several players who played with the Yankees during the 1910s. Also featured are a number of signatures belonging to players who played very briefly with the Yankees, but who accomplished memorable feats with other clubs, such as Ernie Shore and Elmer Smith. This is our consignor's childhood collection, with all the signatures having been obtained by him either in person at signing shows during the 1970s/early 1980s or by correspondence with the player. As such, several of the pieces are personalized "To Marc" or a family member. The signatures, scripted in a variety of inks, average 8/10. Excellent condition overall. Because some of the signatures were obtained by mail, one most allow for the possibility of a few secretarial examples in the collection.
