Presented is a multi-signed album page with signatures from Hall of Fame second baseman Johnny Evers, and star first baseman Fred Hoblitzell. The album page comes from an album of autographs that originated with a Boston Red Sox batboy. Johnny Evers was part of the famous Chicago Cubs double play trio immortalized in the words of writer Franklin Pierce Adams, who penned in the poem "Baseball's Sad Lexicon" the words, "These are the saddest of possible words, Tinker to Evers to Chance." Joe Tinker (shortstop), Johnny Evers (second baseman) and Frank Chance (first baseman) made up the famous trio, and all three were elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Fred Hoblitzell was a first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox, and he was a friend, and for a time the road roommate, of Babe Ruth. The Red Sox roomed the straight arrow Hoblitzell with the wild Babe Ruth in the hope that Hoblitzell's calm demeanor and moderate habits would have a calming effect on the partying Ruth. It didn't work. Jack Leary is another signature on the album page. It is not certain, but the signature could be from John Leary, on the St. Louis Browns in 1914-15. We have other pages from this album, including various teams and players, included within this same auction .

A signature and inscription, both in pencil, on the album page from a "William Tracy" is most likely from the Hollywood actor of that name, who inscribed, "Yours until hot dogs bark." On the back of the album page with the aforementioned autographs is an autograph and inscription from famed actor Jackie Cooper, who penned, in black/blue fountain ink, "Tom, Best of luck your Pal/Jackie Cooper." Hoblitzell, Leary, and Evers signed in blue fountain ink.

The album page, measuring approx. 4.3x6", has been encapsulated, and the Evers, Hoblitzell, Leary, and Cooper signatures have been PSA Certified as "AUTHENTIC AUTO." The page has seven small machine stamped holes so that the page can be inserted or removed from an autograph album, and the album page shows some darkening, but is in otherwise EXCELLENT condition. Other pages of autographs from this same album also appear in this Lelands' Auction. The offering makes a novel 2-for-1 item, with autographs from both famous baseball players and well-known actors.
