Offered is a Earl Averill single-signed baseball from the early 1940s. Averill signed this Official American League (Harridge) ball on the sweet spot. The ball is in excellent condition, and the signature rates ____ . The ball dates from 1942-45. Averill retired after the 1941 season, which means that this ball was signed sometime shortly after his playing career. This is early for an Averill single-signed ball as most were signed much later on. Averill spent most of his time with the Cleveland Indians, but also played for the Tigers and Braves. He retired in 1941 and was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975. Comes with a full LOA from PSA and JSA.
