Offered is a Jimmie Foxx signed Davega first baseman's mitt. The brown leather mitt measures 10.5" across and 9" high. Foxx signed the palm of the glove in black ink, and he wrote "1938" below his name. The glove shows heavy signs of use. Foxx had two nicknames: "Double X" and "the Beast". The later nickname was actually a compliment in that the name referred not to Jimmie's demeanor, but to his muscular build, with powerful arms that ultimately resulted in 534 lifetime home runs. At the time of Foxx's retirement, his home run total was second only to that of Babe Ruth.
