Rogers Hornsby batted .424 for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1924, the highest NL batting average in the twentieth century, and his Major League career average of .358 is second only to the .366 of Ty Cobb. Presented is a Rogers Hornsby signed index card. Hornsby played 23 MLB seasons: St. Louis Cardinals (1915-26 & '28), New York Giants (1927), Boston Braves (1928), Chicago Cubs (1929-32), St. Louis Browns (1933-37). He was known for foregoing movies and most reading in attempts to preserve his eyesight. Hornsby, a second baseman who batted right-handed, had 2,930 Major League hits, with 301 home runs. He was a 2-time NL MVP and a 2-time NL Triple Crown winner, and a 7-time NL batting champ. He also managed six Major League teams.

Hornsby signed a 3x4.8" index card, using blue or black fountain ink. An area measuring 2.25x4" on the index card appears to have been exposed to more sunlight than the rest of the card, and this aforementioned area has darkened more than the rest of the front of the index card. Hornsby's signature is bold and flowing, and the signed index card shows "Rogers Hornsby" typed at the top by an anonymous typist. The signed index card has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA CERTIFIED "AUTHENTIC AUTO" (83972971). Aside from some darkening, the card is in EXCELLENT condition.
