Philadelphia Phillies home jersey worn by perennial All Star second baseman Chase Utley during the 2006 season. The white pinstripe polyester jersey features the team name, "Phillies" on an embroidered patch on the front, and the number "26" on the reverse and left sleeve. The name "Utley" is lettered on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in red on white tackle twill. A "Majestic Size 46" label appears on the left front tail. Located on the interior left front tail is the properly coded "0063" wash tag. Utley has inscribed the jersey, "Chase Utley 26/2006 Game Used," in silver paint pen (grading 9/10) on the reverse numeral "6." The jersey is original as issued, and displays light wear.
2006 was arguably Chase Utley's finest overall season in the Majors. Utley batted .309 with 32 home runs, 102 RBI, and a league-leading 131 runs that year, with those numbers helping him finish seventh in the MVP balloting at year's end. One of the game's best offensive second baseman during much of his sixteen-year career (2003-18), Utley retired with 259 home runs, 1,025 RBI, and a .275 lifetime average.
