New York Mets home jersey worn by third baseman David Wright during his 2004 rookie season with the club. The white knit jersey is lettered "Mets" across the front and features the number "5" on both the left breast and reverse. The name "Wright" is lettered on the reverse, directly above the number. All letters and numerals are applied in off-set tri-color blue, orange, and black tackle twill. Located on the interior left front tail are a "Majestic" label, a "46" size tag, and a flag tag bearing the set and year ("Set E 2004"). A New York Mets team patch and the embroidered name "Bob Murphy" (in honor of the club's longtime radio/television announcer who died on August 3rd of that year) appear on the left sleeve. Adorning the right sleeve are a Mets "40th Anniversary" patch, and the embroidered lettering "Ya Gotta Believe - Tug" (in memory of longtime Mets reliever Tug McGraw who died on January 5th of that year). Wright has signed the jersey in faded blue marker (grading 4/10) on the reverse, between the name and number. The jersey is original as issued and displays moderate wear, including a few light stains on the front and reverse, and a series of seven small pinholes on the left sleeve.

Wright made his Major League debut with the New York Mets on July 27, 2004, and he quickly proved his worth among his peers. Appearing in 69 games, Wright batted .293 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI. For the next six seasons Wright ranked among the top players at his position before a chronic back injury began to hinder his performance and cut short what was most likely a Hall of Fame career. Wright is arguably the best position player in Mets history and he was, and still is, one of the most popular players ever to wear a Mets uniform. Accompanied by an LOA from Steiner Sports. Additional LOA from PSA (for the signature only).
