Displayed is a 1960s Vivien Leigh vintage cut signature. Leigh's legendary movie performances as Scarlett O'Hara in Gone With the Wind (1939), and as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire (1951) both won Academy Awards for Best Actress. An accomplished stage actress, the British-American performer starred in the play version of A Streetcar Named Desire in London in 1949 before she reprised the role in the motion picture of the same name. She also won a Tony Award as Best Actress in a Musical for Tovarich (1963). Leigh's beauty was widely admired, but she actually felt that her attractiveness negatively affected her reputation as an actress, thinking critics did not take her talent seriously. She suffered from bipolar disorder for much of her adult life. She also battled chronic tuberculosis, the illness which led to her death in 1967. The screen legend signed a 2.4x4.2" paper or piece of card stock in blue ink. The aforementioned piece has been affixed to a larger (3x4.6") piece of paper or card stock. At the bottom of the larger piece is "Vivien Leigh," lettered via a labeling gun on a thin strip of plastic. The cut signature has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA CERTIFIED as AUTHENTIC AUTO.
