Displayed is the vintage cut autograph of Leopold Stokowski, famed English born American conductor. Stokowski (1882-1977) first made his mark in America when he became the conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, where he introduced the now-popular practice of "pop concerts." Stokowski was also the conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, the NBC Orchestra, and numerous other musical ensembles. He became noted for his theatrical flair while conducting, and he usually conducted with just his hands, foregoing the usual baton. He is also well-known for conducting the music for Disney's movie Fantasia, even appearing in the film, in shadow form, as a conductor. The signature is on 2.25x4.2" piece of paper or card stock. Stokowski's beautiful, flowing autograph is scripted in blue fountain ink. The cut signature has been encapsulated, with a PSA/DNA Auto Grade of GEM MINT 10.
