Gregory Peck is one of America's most popular actors, a leading film star from the 1940s through the 1970s. Presented is a 1960s original, vintage photo that has been personalized and signed by the Hollywood icon. Peck was born in 1916, and he studied acting at New York City's famed Neighborhood Playhouse with legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner. Peck appeared in many plays and in three Broadway shows before becoming mainly a film actor. His talented acting earned him four Academy Award nominations before his fifth nomination earned him an Oscar. Peck's Academy Award nominations: The Keys of the Kingdom (1945), The Yearly (1946), Gentleman's Agreement (1947), Twelve O'clock High (1949). Peck won the Oscar for Best Actor in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962) in which he plays his most famous role, that of Atticus Finch, a courageous lawyer fighting for an innocent African American who is on trial because of prejudicial accusations. Throughout his life, Peck was very active in humanitarian causes. He passed away in 2003. The offered black & white photo measures approx. 7.5x9.5". Using a blue fine tip marker, Peck wrote, "To Bob Donnelly/With appreciation Sincerely/Gregory Peck." The dignified photo is in fine condition.
