Gregory Peck is one of America's most popular actors, a leading film star from the 1940s through the 1970s. Peck was born in 1916, and he studied acting at New York City's famed Neighborhood Playhouse with legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner. Peck appeared in many plays and in three Broadway shows before becoming mainly a film actor. His talented acting earned him four Academy Award nominations before his fifth nomination earned him an Oscar.
