Pair of blue Nike turf shoes worn by outfielder Bo Jackson as a member of the Kansas City Royals during the late 1980s. The blue cleats each feature the large Nike "Swoosh" logo on each side in white. The name "BO" is written in faded black marker on the back of each heel. The cleats (size 12), display heavy use, including soiling on the bottom and a few scuffs and abrasions. Bo Jackson played for the Royals from 1986 to 1990, during which time he recorded over 20 home runs in four of those five seasons. If Jackson wasn't the most successful two-sport professional player in history, he certainly was the most famous, mainly due to the memorable "Bo Knows" Nike marketing campaign from the time. Jackson is the only professional player to be named an All-Star in two major professional sports, achieving that accomplishment in 1989 with the Royals and 1990 with the Oakland Raiders. Unfortunately, a serious hip injury on the gridiron during the 1990 postseason ended his professional career in both sports. Today he is considered by many to be one of the greatest athletes in professional sports history.
