Displayed is a Ken Griffey Jr. signed 1990s San Bernardino Spirit home white, short sleeve, game worn jersey. This jersey was not worn by Griffey, but was worn by another player in the 1990s, after Griffey left. Ken Griffey Jr., conveniently nicknamed "Junior," is the son of Ken Griffey Sr., a Major League outfielder for 19 seasons. In 1988, Junior's second professional season, the Hall of Famer played for the San Bernardino Spirit, an A level affiliate - in the California State League - of the Seattle Mariners. Junior had a stellar season with San Bernardino, batting .338, with 11 home runs and 42 RBIs in 58 games. By the next year, he was in the Major Leagues with Seattle. The 1997 AL MVP had a career batting average of .284, with 630 home runs and an amazing .907 OPS. He was a 13-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove recipient, and 7-time Silver Slugger. In 1990-91, Junior even got to play on the same team as his father, as they both played for Seattle. On August 31, 1990, Junior and his father became the first father and son in baseball history to play for the same team in the same game. The offered jersey is a polyester blend or 100% polyester, and it has "SPIRIT," with an added red star, in blue letters, sewn across the chest. A red 24 is sewn on the left chest. The left sleeve has a sewn-on AIS manufacturer's logo. Six silver-colored buttons run down the front. The back has 24, in blue sewn-on numerals. Junior signed the jersey on the right front, using a fine tip black marker to neatly sign as "Ken Griffey Jr." The jersey shows light wear, and it has a few very small spots, but overall is in EXCELLENT condition. The jersey has a vintage, early 1990s, Ken Griffey Jr. signature.
