Before he was known as "Coach Prime" for his University of Colorado Buffalos football team, a young "Prime Time" Deion Sanders displayed his athletic prowess by joining a select group of players to appear in both the National Football League and Major League Baseball. This Louisville Slugger model R161 bat is an actual Deion Sanders model, measuring 34.75" and weighing 31 ounces. No obvious game use is present but the bat does display some wear, particularly to the end of the knob and with general handling all-around. Though football remained his primary profession and limited his baseball playing time, no less than four MLB teams (Yankees, Atlanta, Cincinnati, San Francisco) felt his exceptional talent was worth it, to the tune of 641 games during which he compiled a .263 average with 186 stolen bases.
