Presented is a 2002 Sammy Sosa game used Louisville Slugger model R161 autographed bat. Sosa played 18 Major League seasons, and he is known mostly for his slugging with the Chicago Cubs (1992-2004). Sosa hit over 60 homers in three seasons for the Cubs, and he hit 609 lifetime homers. He was the National league MVP in 1998 when he hit 66 homers and led the NL in RBIs (158). In 2002, when Sosa used the offered bat, Sammy batted .288, drove in 108 runs, and led the NL in both homers (49) and runs (122). The ash bat sources from the 2002 labeling period and measures 34.5", weighs 33.7 ounces and is in black finish. The bat shows outstanding use, with a handle crack, and it has been heavily taped at the knob. Heavy pine tar is on the handle, and the bat exhibits many ball marks and small dents from use. Etched on the barrel: "GENUINE R161 SAMMY SOSA CHICAGO CUBS". The finish is chipped in numerous places on the barrel. Signed and inscribed on the barrel, in silver marker "Game Used 2002 Sammy Sosa #21". Comes with PSA/DNA bat grade "GU 9.5", PSA/DNA Cert. #1B28341 for the bat only, and a PSA LOA for the signature.
