The truly American art form of comic strips has appeared in publications since the late 19th Century, and this collection is a celebration of it. Included here are two Bugs Bunny with Elmer Fudd and Sylvester by Ralph Heimdahl with accompanying signed letter by the artist himself. There's a "Popeye" daily strip with accompanying letter signed by Bud Sagendorf, a "Mark Trail" illustration by Ed Dodd with accompanying letter signed by Dodd. A Mickey Finn from 1976 by Morris Weiss with accompanying letter signed by Weiss, and a "Ziggy" drawing by Tom Wilson. Each of these was sent to a Dr. Braude, most likely a comic strip fan. Some rare sketches and correspondence here.
