Photo-Match: Jersey has been conclusively photo-matched to November 27th, 1980 by Sports Investors! Their LOA has been uploaded in the listing.

1978 Lynn Swann Pittsburgh Steelers game worn jersey is a spectacular example from the first of back-to-back Super Bowl Championship seasons, and the third of four in his legendary career. All original white top has Medalist Sand-Knit size 44 tag on the front tail along with Exclusive Steelers tag and "78" year tag, all on the front tail. Number 88 in black is stitched to front, sleeves, and back; name is on a plate in gold-on-black tackle twill. Shows some decent use with pilling inside, loose threads, general wear, and one team repair on the back. Of the many Steelers jerseys we have handled, Swann is one of the toughest to obtain as we can count on one hand the number of authentic examples that we have seen. This one has rock-solid provenance as it originally came directly from the Steelers jersey archives and comes with a letter signed by Art Rooney II; also photo-matched to 11/27 vs. the San Francisco 49ers (AP18212073442440 - number is for reference only, photo is not included with lot). Known not only for his exceptional pass-catching ability but also for his swiftness and grace on the field, Swann displayed his Hall of Fame form in that 24-7 victory, connecting with fellow Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw for 8 receptions for a season-high 134 receiving yards, and two touchdowns. In all, his 11 TD catches in '78 tied a season-high set in '75, when he led the league in that category as Pittsburgh proceeded to claim its third Super Bowl title in five years with a thrilling 35-31 over the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl XIII.
