Baseball's all-time hits king, Pete Rose, returned to both his personal and professional Cincinnati home in 1984 after having been reacquired from the Montreal Expos for infielder Tom Lawless on August 16. During the final weeks of the season, Rose wore this original gray jersey, which shows excellent use with excessive wear to the numbers and letters. There's a Wilson Size 44 tag and "84 1" tag on the front tail, along with the usual CINCINNATI across the chest and ROSE 14 stitched on the back. A rejuvenated Rose, even at age 43, batted .365 in 43 games for the Reds the rest of that 1984 season, one year before he set baseball's all-time record for hits.
