Tremendous circa 1960-62 Ohio State basketball jersey was donned by Hall of Famer John Havlicek. Graded a perfect A10 by MEARS, this white top has a great look with OHIO STATE sewn across the chest in individual red-on-black tackle twill arched above the same-styled number 5, which is also on back. Rawlings size 42 tagging is on the tail along with laundering instructions, and nice wear is displayed throughout; this jersey also has a full crotch piece with all six buttons still present. A swingman, Havlicek played collegiate basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1959 to 1962, winning an NCAA championship in 1960. That was just a taste of the success he would enjoy as a pro with the dominant Boston Celtics, which included 8 NBA Championships, NBA Finals MVP in '74, 13 All-Star Game selections, and 5-time All Defensive First Team. Havlicek is tied for the third-most championship title won by one player; unsurprisingly, the top group is made entirely of Boston Celtics, paced by: Bill Russell (11); Sam Jones (10); and Tom Heinsohn, KC Jones, and Satch Sanders (tied with 8). This rare number 5 jersey number was retired by THE Ohio State University in Havlicek's honor, and his number 17 was retired by the Celtics, fitting tributes to an exceptional career.
