Displayed is a vintage 1963-64 Chicago Black Hawks signed team color photograph. The 8.5x11" photo has twenty-three (23) autographs, including some of coaches, executives, and other team employees. In 1963-64, the Black Hawks went 36-22-12 in the regular season, for 84 points and second place in the NHL. On the signed photo are the autographs of five Hall of Fame players: Left wing Bobby Hull, centers Stan Mikita and Phil Esposito, defenseman Pierre Pilote, and goalie Glenn Hall. Also, Bill Hay signed the photo and the Black Hawk center later became the CEO of the Calgary Flames and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder. In '63-64, Mikita led the Black Hawks scoring with 89 points, with 39 goals and 50 assists. Hull was second on the team with 87 points on 43 goals and 44 assists. Hall was terrific in goal, with a 34-19 regular season record and a GAA of 2.30 with a save percentage of .930. That year, the Black Hawks were eliminated in the semifinals of the playoffs by Detroit in seven games. Nearly every single player has signed: Reg Fleming, Chico Maki, Wayne Hillman, Al MacNeil, Eric Nesterenko, and Dennis DeJordy, plus more. The photo has a few very small tears along the edges of about 1/4 inch. In a few places there are some small folds, and some tiny paper loss. Almost all of these minor imperfections are along the edges. The autographs have been signed with blue ink from a ballpoint pen. The 2023-24 season marks six decades since the '63-64 team signed the offered photo, and the presented item makes an outstanding remembrance of one of Chicago's most star-studded hockey teams.
