1982 ticket stub from the December 5 contest between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings, in which the legendary Wayne Gretzky broke the NHL record for consecutive games with a point - for the first time. Measuring roughly 1.25x3.75", the stub from "Game 15" displays both team logos, has an uneven tear, and no major blemishes. Gretzky scored a goal with four assists in a 7-3 win to run his points streak to 29 games, surpassing the mark held by Montreal Canadiens Hall of Famer Guy Lafleur. That streak lasted just one more game for a final total of 30, but The Great One was just getting warmed up. He had another streak - of 39 games - in the '85-86 season, but his still-current record stands at 51 straight in 1983-84, accomplished the season following the one represented in this lot. Encapsulated by PSA as STUB VG 3.
