Offered is a rare rookie era Greg Maddux bat from the Hall of Fame pitcher's earliest MLB days while playing for the Chicago Cubs in 1985-89. Greg Maddux won 355 Major League games. He had a 23-year career, pitching mostly for the Chicago Cubs and the Atlanta Braves. Maddux was the first Major League pitcher to win four consecutive Cy Young Awards. He was an 8-time All-Star, was a key player on the 1995 World Series Champions, was an 18-time Gold Glove winner, led the Major Leagues three times in wins and four times in ERA. As a hitter, he hit .171 lifetime. The Louisville Slugger bat is 33.5 inches in length, with a weight of 30.6 ounces. The original weight would be more like 31 ounces or 32 ounces because a piece of the back barrel is missing. The barrel has "Genuine B267," "Greg Maddux," and "Louisville Slugger" engraved into the wood. The bottom of the knob has "31 B267" written by an unknown hand in black marker. This a a rare Maddux rookie bat. The bat shows good use, with ball marks and indentations. Except for the nearly 12" long piece of wood missing from the back barrel, the bat is in good condition.
