The unique 1950 Callahan Hall of Fame baseball set features drawings of inductees from artist Mario DeMarco and was distributed by the National
Baseball Hall of Fame and at ballparks throughout the league. Produced
between 1950 and 1956, these 1.75x2.5" cards added additional members subsequent to
yearly inductions. The unnumbered cards reveal black-and-white
renderings of each player and carry a detailed biography on the back.
When the B.E. Callahan of Chicago Company, printers of "Who's Who in
Baseball," ceased production in 1956, the set numbered 58 and featured
dozens of Hall of Famers and stars such as: J. Frank "Home Run" Baker,
Albert B. Chandler, Ty Cobb, Dizzy Dean, Joe DiMaggio, Lou Gehrig, Ted
Lyons, Babe Ruth, Al Simmons and Paul Waner, among others, as well as
multiple views of the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Condition breakdown of the set is 10% VG; 30% EX; 30% EX-MT; 30% NM.
