Originally purchased by our consignor from Bill Dickey's estate, this extremely special baseball was owned by the Hall of Fame catcher and was one of his prized possessions, as it is signed by members of the 1941 World Series Champion Yankees. Highlighted by Joe DiMaggio's record 56-game hitting streak, the Bronx Bombers went on to post a 101-53 record en route to a World Series championship vs. the crosstown rival Brooklyn Dodgers. The rare, Official American League (Harridge) baseball is very clean and EX-MT with no scuff or stains. No fewer than 27 signatures are visible, all in black ink. Some have faded, the worst being 2-3/10 and the best 7-8/10. Of primary importance is Joe DiMaggio on the sweet spot in 7/10, joined by Red Ruffing. Other names include Dickey, Rizzuto, Grodon, Keller, Crosetti, Gomez, Combs, Henrich and more. One of the keys dating it to 1941 is Frenchy Bordagary, who was only with the Yankees that very season.
