Remarkable mid-1920's photograph of the "Bambino" shaking the hand of an unknown spectator. This impressive photograph features an early non-personalized Ruth signature that has been dated "July 4, 1927" in an unknown hand. We believe, however, that the year the photograph was actually taken may be earlier due to the style of jersey that Ruth is wearing. In 1927, the road jerseys read "YANKEES" and it is believed that this image was actually taken a few years earlier. 8x9.5" photograph features the photographer's embossed cartouche that reads, "The Evening Bulletin" and is found in the lower corner. The photo is worn, very fragile and has been mounted on board. Handwriting on the back is in unknown hand and reads, "Signed by Babe Ruth July 4, 1927." The black fountain ink signature presents well and has been recently authenticated by PSA.
