A wonderful wealth of baseball history is represented by this April 22, 1955 check. All-time great Hall of Famer Ty Cobb wrote the check using his trademark green ink. Cobb is listed on the check as "Tyrus R. Cobb," and that is how he signed the draft. The check is made out to "Happy Chandler," whose given first name, which nobody used, was Albert. Chandler was the Baseball Commissioner who helped to facilitate Jackie Robinson's breaking of the "color line." He was also a United States Senator from Kentucky and also its governor. Cobb's signature is a Perfect 10/10. PSA encapsulated.
