Though he was just one year from retirement, Sandy Koufax was still one the best pitcher in baseball in 1965 winning the Cy Young Award with a 26-8 record. The high point of that stellar campaign was a perfect game over the Chicago Cubs at Dodger Stadium on September 9. This very rare program is vintage scored from that game, and while the cover comically shows a Dodger running from National League foes, Koufax was the one in complete command on that day. He retired all 27 batters faced that game for only the eighth Perfect Game ever, sixth in the modern era. Program is in Very Good condition with some foxing and cracking at the edges and is neatly scored in both pen and pencil. Writing on the back cover notes that Koufax was first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in 4 consecutive seasons and while that streak would end in 1966, Sandy wrapped up his spectacular career with a 27-9 mark and his third Cy Young honor.
